Perhaps the most iconic of Confederate imported goods are the jackets made by the Peter Tait company in Limerick, Ireland. These jackets came in a variety of trim styles, with the trimmed collar and untrimmed being perhaps some of the most common. The two jackets this reproduction are based on are the 2nd MD jacket and the Pendleton/2nd VA Infantry jackets.

Our reproduction is made using excellent English Army Cloth with a linen osnaburg lining, one interior pocket, and your choice of collar trim color. We have also reproduced the most style of size stamps seen in Tait jackets that lists height and chest/waist measurements for the intended wearer. Coats ordered with blue or untrimmed collars will have script I buttons, and red trimmed coats will have block A buttons unless otherwise specified.

Please make sure that you get accurate measurements in inches to ensure a proper fit.
